As part of my family's annual Indy 500 Memorial Day trip to Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Dayton, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. The Hyatt Regency Cincinnati is located in downtown Cincinnati, and is connected to the convention center and a Saks Fifth Avenue. Its location lends it self to business travelers to the Cincinnati-area. Personally I enjoyed the short walk down to the riverfront for a run, and the convenient to Uber ride to the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood (great area for restaurants and bars).
The hotel boasts an impressive lobby space in addition to its fantastic location. The lobby includes a "market" area that serves Starbucks coffee and it offers plenty of seating.
The hotel offers infused water in the lobby in the afternoon.
At check-in, we inquired as to whether a suite was available after it was not proactively offered. We were told no, dropped our luggage off in our room, and went about our day in the city. Curiousity struck, and I noticed several suites were still for sale according to the World of Hyatt app. When we returned, I inquired again as to suite availability and was told the availability shown on the app was a mistake, and none were available for upgrade. After being declined, I escalated the issue to the World of Hyatt customer service line. Miraculously after a ten-minute hold, three suites appeared available and we were brought keys to our new room.
The studio suite at Hyatt Cincinnati was large and ours included floor to ceiling windows facing north.
The suite included a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, sink, and microwave.
The restroom had a mirror that you cannot look bad in. Seriously, I want this mirror in my home.
The typical KenetMD toiletries were provided. (Hyatt really needs to upgrade its toiletries in my opinion.)
Breakfast is held at the bar area and consists of typical hotel breakfast buffet items including eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, and assorted continental breakfast items.
I ended up running along the riverfront because it was only a 10-minute walk away, but the hotel gym was impressively sized, and I always appreciate when a hotel offers headphones if you forgot yours.
All in all, our stay at the Hyatt Cincinnati served its purpose. I'd complain about the lack of upgrade, but it seems to be a problem chainwide with the new World of Hyatt program. We enjoyed our stay in a centrally-located hotel with plenty of amenities. We will definitely return.
